Spring Crispy Treat Nests (a.k.a...surviving February break with small kids)

Who doesn't have memories of making these classic, quick and kid friendly treats!  P.S. We try to eat pretty healthy but sometimes you just gotta give in a little.

Who doesn't have memories of making these classic, quick and kid friendly treats!

P.S. We try to eat pretty healthy but sometimes you just gotta give in a little.

It might be the warmest February break on record here in Upstate New York, like it's going to be 70 degrees this week warm!!! We have had ample time to spend out in the yard. When you have a whole week to keep your kids from arguing over anything and everything, making these Spring inspired rice crispy treats was the cure for idle hands this morning. So grab your aprons and make memories.

What you will need...

2 - 12 cup muffin tins
non stick baking spray or melted butter and brush
1 - 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 cups crispy rice cereal
5 - 6 oz robin egg candy

1.  Melt butter over low heat in large non stick pot.
2. Add bag of marshmallows and stir constantly with rubber spatula until melted and remove from heat. Stir in cereal and fold until incorporated.
3. Spoon out into greased muffin tins and form a well with your thumbs, this is the part my oldest loved the most (aside from eating them lol).
4. Let them cool for 15 min and top off with the egg candies.
