About

So what's it like working with me?

Very easy to work with! Felt comfortable talking to Tanya and asking her questions about our photo shoot. Pictures turned out gorgeous!

Tanya is a great photographer with attention to detail. She has an great eye for poses and different locations that would be the most beautiful shots in the end. We were not very good at modeling for her, but she made us feel comfortable and also had communicated and used great directions to maximize our time with her. Highly Recommend her!

Hello! Let's work together

I'm a Rochester native living in the Finger Lakes with my Husband and our two boys. I've been shooting for over 15 years as a means of personal expression but over the last 5 years my love of photography has grown and It's become the main focus in my professional life. While obtaining my degree in Graphic Design, I started learning everything could about digital photography. I think becoming a mother helped to fuel this passion, I wanted to capture all the special moments with my family. This led to my desire for helping other families create memories to share with family for generations to come.

It's also no secret that I love to cook and bake! Couple that with my years of restaurant experience and my love of food photography was born.  So what's it like working with me? I prefer natural light when I shoot any session. If we are booking a menu session I will discuss the dishes you want to use, as well as getting images of the space and key staff members to create a narrative about your business and why you're so passionate about what you do.

If we are booking a portrait session we will share ideas about location options. I'm always open to suggestions! The day of your shoot I try to keep things laid back, not falling into to many posing patterns. My goal is to make you comfortable and catch the genuine emotions between people. For more on this check out my blog post on planning for your session and what to expect. http://tjyoungman-design.photography/blog-sownngoodsoil/2017/10/4/tips-for-an-engagement-session

So what am I doing when not at a shoot or editing? Most likely you'll find me in my kitchen! My favorite way to spend free time is to spend all day preparing a special meal for my family. Like the kinda meal that takes hours to make and minutes to eat!

The one thing I NEED to get through my day...COFFEE of course!
